Quidditch broom, Gryffindor scarf, HP logo, etc....
4 Houses spelled onto Vanilla and Chocolate Peppermint cupcakes (birthday boy request).....
Candles projected on the ceiling and a treasure hunt was on the way!
Pin the tail on the Hypogriff. The birthday boy actually came up with this one:-)
Notebooks of the 4 different "houses" they were placed in according to the sorting hat.
Hagrid's dragon pinata.
Pouring the potion...
Pumpkin juice soda, pumpkin bark with gummy worms and "dragon blood" cookies (or holiday Oreo's!).
Potion tasting.
Table set up for the party...
Snake eyes and eyes of newt.
Lizard tongues.
Wizard hat chips and Professor Snape dip.
Pretzel rod wands and Hedwig on top of the castle.
Wands to make....
I bought a frog mold to make chocolate frogs like the ones at Honeydukes Candy Shop.
My son turned 6 and wanted a Harry Potter birthday party. As you can see from above, I tried my best to have as many elements from the first book/movie that I could think of. He said it was a great party and all of his friends went home happy after a treasure hunt that ended at my version of Honeydukes Candy Shop with all kinds of candy imaginable to take home, so mission accomplished. Pretty good for a muggle:-)
