Teacher birthday

K lollipop for being a Kindergarten teacher and her name is Kim:-)

Snicker's cupcakes for Kim's birthday. She is a K teacher, went to Auburn, likes to relax with a glass of wine (yeah girl!) and loves the candybar as much as I do. Happy Birthday Kim!

Birthday-Harrison

Harrison turned 14 and wanted Red Velvet cupcakes with a few fondant toppers of his interest. Mom said it was hit:-) Happy Birthday Harrison!

Pirates-Chandler 4th birthday

Chandler was turning 4 and wanted a pirate themed party. I did a few for the girls as well. The other dozen had sprinkles to match. This is always a fun theme. Happy Birthday Chandler!

Birthday-Kathryn

Kathryn turned 7 and was having a sleep-over party with her friends. She likes butterflies and peace symbols so with the colors her mom gave me, I went from there. The butterfly wings are chocolate. Happy Birthday Kathryn!

Teacher Appreciation

For Teacher Appreciation Week, my son's teacher had said that Snicker's candy bars were her favorite (mine too actually). I have made Reese's peanut butter cup cupcakes several times with peanut butter in the vanilla batter. I decided chocolate batter was in order for these. I put 1/4 of a mini Snicker in the middle and baked it in. Then once the buttercream was added, another 1/4 of a mini bar, honey roasted peanuts and chocolate drizzle. Other candy bard may have to be on the menu next.....

Superbowl XLV-2011

Superbowl XLV with the Steelers and the Packers. I did cupcakes with both teams colors. The goals are plastic and the footballs are Hershey drops (new chocolate product they're marketing), colored sugars and Williams Sonoma football helmet sprinkles. Surprisingly, no fondant:-)

Birthday-Chip

For Chip's 40th birthday, his sister knew that he would want his favorite cake flavor, Spice Cake with Lemon Buttercream. Citrus buttercream is always a challenge as far as getting the tart right without "turning" the butter. I grated real lemon zest into the buttercream alongwith lemon oil to get more of the tart flavor. I had to try one myself and I must say it is a yummy combo of the tart with the spice. I also made a batch of Reese's Peanut Butter cupcakes to go with it. Happy Birthday Chip!
