I had the privilege of making Emily's 50th birthday cupcakes in January of 2013 and now her husband Murray's in January of 2014. She asked for Champagne and Death by Chocolate (new recipe). I had fun coming up with "as much chocolate as possible". I added Penzey's Raw Cocoa to the buttercream and batter and melted Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate to the ganache center as well as the buttercream. She gave me twelve items/ideas about him and I came up with the following L to R: fast cars, vegetable gardening, Newfoundland dogs, Ragdoll cats, Toronto French School, HBD, Astronomy, Fonseca 1994 port, cheese/bread, Canada/US, geology, golf. Happy 50th birthday Murray!
